Who We Are

In this world of ours, the American Legion Auxiliary shines as an example of unselfish giving. With almost a million members from all walks of life, the Auxiliary administers hundreds of volunteer programs, gives tens of thousands of hours to its communities and to veterans, and raises millions of dollars to support its own programs as well as other worthwhile charities familiar to most Americans. It is all accomplished with volunteers.

The Auxiliary, organized in 1919 to assist The American Legion, is much more than the name implies. The organization has achieved its own unique identity while working side-by-side with the veterans who belong to The American Legion. Like the Legion, the Auxiliary’s interests have broadened to encompass the entire community. The American Legion Auxiliary is the world’s largest women’s patriotic service organization. Through its nearly 10,500 Units located in every state and some foreign countries, the Auxiliary embodies the spirit of America that has prevailed through war and peace. Along with The American Legion, it solidly stands behind America and her ideals.

Mission Statement

To support The American Legion programs for veterans, young people, and community To provide for today’s needs while being advocates for a brighter future To advance the understanding of patriotism and responsibility of citizenship To promote individual integrity and family values To ensure as volunteers, that Auxiliary members continue to be the leaders in all that is good in this nation today, tomorrow and for generations to come through serving others first and not self.

Vision Statement: The vision of the American Legion Auxiliary is to support the American Legion while becoming the premier service organization and foundation of every community, providing support for our veterans, our military, and their families by shaping a positive future in an atmosphere of fellowship, patriotism, peace, and security.

Auxiliary Happenings

Mission Training

Auxiliary members across Arizona came together for an engaging day of Mission Training—focused on building stronger leaders and more effective Units. From officer duties and parliamentary procedures to budgeting, membership, and bylaws, attendees gained practical tools to lead with confidence.

With interactive discussions and expert instructors, the sessions offered valuable insights for both new and experienced members—all for just $10.

Mission Training has wrapped for the 2025–2026 year, but more opportunities are ahead. Be sure to check aladeptaz.org for future sessions and updates!

Arizona Girls State

The American Legion Auxiliary is proud to sponsor local young women to attend American Legion Auxiliary Arizona Girls State each year. Arizona Girls State is a premier leadership and citizenship program where high school juniors spend a week learning how government works through hands-on participation in mock city, county, and state government. Delegates build leadership skills, form lifelong friendships, and gain a deeper understanding of civic responsibility and patriotism.

Girls State is an unforgettable experience that empowers young women to grow as leaders while representing their schools and communities with pride.

Local Graduates

Each year, the American Legion Auxiliary proudly recognizes and honors the dedicated students of the Queen Creek area who have completed their ROTC programs as well as those who have chosen to continue their service by entering the United States Armed Forces. We celebrate their leadership, commitment, patriotism, and willingness to serve our nation, and we are honored to support and recognize these outstanding young men and women as they begin the next chapter of their journey.
